That sucks, but it isn't suprising either. I am pretty sure that is just common knowledge that they risk prosecution when they do that stuff... which is why the folks at Underground Ozarks don't supply their true identities and muck with the faces in their photos before posting them. I just hope they have been careful enough with everything that could compromise their anonymity... especially with all our new federal laws that keep us "safe"

Wow, first I've heard of this. A good friend of mine actually takes part in a lot of the Underground Ozarks expeditions. He's not very good at being anonymous, either.

I was reading that blog yesterday and wondered...

Its not like they sold an oz of meth to an undercover cop - so lets just hope its only probation and a warning. There is a lot more serious stuff going on that the detectives could be working on!

Oh... and I hope the visitor poster realizes that its not really legal to threaten to sue unless you are serious. You can't just go around saying I'm gonna sue! I'm gonna sue! Just to manipulate people into doing what you want them to.

Having worked at St. John's and knowing their legal counsel I can assure you that they do not make empty threats. The have some of the best lawyers in the state at their disposal and they will use them. I can see how it would appear at first glance to be a minor offense, but with the suit happy world we live in it is not so minor. If one of these guys fell from the crane and died, their relatives could sue St. John's for failing to provide adequate security and chances are they would win. You would be amazed at the way the legal system works (or doesn't work). If you own the property, you are liable.
